Named ‘Tatou,’ the French word for ‘armadillo,’ this table lamp draws inspiration from the creature’s protective structure. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, it masterfully filters light to create a unique ambiance. The lamp offers diffused lighting, featuring an exterior polycarbonate (PC) diffuser and an injection-printed opal PC internal diffuser. The base is crafted from painted steel. Urquiola’s inspiration stemmed from the idea of reconstructing membranes akin to Japanese armor, using metal buckles and straps with emotional value. ‘Tatou’ aptly resonates with the lamp’s emotional purpose.
